Pramatra Space is a quantum technology venture on a mission to make enterprises quantum resilient. We are building satellites to distribute quantum keys to enterprises. Our cybersecurity hardware systems and software platforms will offer solutions to clients to help protect and shield their data and digital assets.
Why are we on this mission ?
The world’s digital ecosystem is under rising attacks and requires stronger defense against cyber adversaries ! We want to help our clients adopt robust data security measures to minimize the reputational, financial and operational risks associated with data breaches and thefts. Since 2020 the costs of data breach has increased by 20%, and continues to be a significant drag on company growth and profitability.
Pramatra Space is building a comprehensive chip based Quantum Key Distribution – QKD – system. Q-Day is the day when a quantum computer will be able to attack and break existing RSA encryption keys that are widely used today to protect our digital assets ! Our innovation is centered on generating and delivering ultra-secure Quantum Keys using integrated photonics based chips on our satellites.
Quantum cryptography leverages principles of quantum mechanics to offer best in class encryption technology and is defensible against quantum attacks ! Quantum keys are generated using photons to generate truly random sequence of keys.
How are we solving the problem ?
Offering a beam of protection to our clients from Space ! Our satellites will deploy the latest integrated photonics chip onboard satellites for this purpose. Our QKD product will provide enterprises across the globe with quantum keys to encrypt their digital assets against ransomware attacks and offer protection against potential threats from quantum attacks and eavesdropping attempts.
Since photons do not travel well and long enough within a fibre optic networks we are building a QKD chip based satellite to transmit Quantum Keys from Space to ground stations. Keys generated can be utilized by enterprises via a Key Management System (KMS) platform Pramatra will provide to end users - IT teams at client site.
The threat to the digital ecosystem is real and we are preparing to build and offer a technology for the future that will shield our clients against debilitating cyber threats. Quantum Keys are fail proof and offer comprehensive security against attacks from quantum computers. The world is moving towards the Quantum age and enterprises will need a solution for that era today.

What are
Quantum Keys?
Quantum cryptographic tools provide a higher level of security as opposed to the current cryptographic tools that are based on classical mathematical models. With the advent of artificial intelligence algorithms and with the rise in computing power classical mathematics based encryption keys stand to get broken rather fast and easily.
Quantum keys, on the other hand, leverage physical properties of qubits to make these keys ultra-secure against hackers. The nature of photons, qubits here, is such that any interception or interference with the qubit signal will trigger a mechanism to detect and deter unauthorised access to the communication link.
How will they be
distributed via satellites ?
Satellite QKD overcomes the challenges and barriers faced while distributing quantum keys on the traditional terrestrial fibre optic networks. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites offer the possibility of relatively more seamless and significantly larger geographic QKD coverage than any other via medium.
A secure link is established between a quantum key transmitter onboard a satellite and a ground station to operationalize a symmetric key cryptography using quantum communication to any two locations on ground. Satellite distribution of these keys enable global connectivity for businesses more efficiently and economically than terrestrial fiber optic networks.
Satellite QKD represents a paradigm shift in cryptography, offering a robust solution against cyber threats and ensuring the confidentiality of transmitted information across vast distances.
